Thursday Night Round-Up
That Titans loss was a brutal one to take, surprisingly I took it in stride. I have no idea why. The Titans and Baylor plays were late additions and not originally on my leans. I should have had the disicpline to pass both of those plays. I was, however, quite surprised that Stanford was able to avoid blowing their game. Thank you, Darrell Catchings.
The ending of the Titans/Packers game, while a kick in the balls, should act as a constant reminder. I will not take my disappointment out on Matt Flynn, I will internalize it and hopefully use it as a lesson for the rest of the season.
Still, fuck Matt Flynn.

I've seen nothing but love for the Spain/Angola over and Argentina. When I first saw the lines that Argentina one stuck out and I knew I would unfortunately be backing the Federation. If they can only play with the vigor they showed in the final seconds against Iran I might have a chance.
I also don't think I'll touch the Germany/USA game, thought I might be backing Deutschland, but the consensus was divided.

Also looking at Spain +15 and Croatia +8, but I'll see how things develop, i.e. how much money I want to lose.
If I was smart I would bet on all they favorites, since they are going to win all the games for this next session.

Work in Progress
This upcoming season will be my third when it comes to sports betting. My first two years I went through my brother's bookie. This year I will primarily be placing most of my bets online. Why should I pay 10% on my winnings when there is a lower price out there? It's common sense really, but it was something previously in which I did not have a firm grasp. I was too lazy/worried/unaware to look for better juice, I was like a lot of people. Not anymore. I'm still a work in progress, but I believe I'm headed in the right direction.

I told myself that when I place the first of many online bets for this coming football season I would create a blog to keep track of my record and progression. Well that time has come. I have placed a bet on USF 75-1 (.5) to win the BCS National Championship.
Now, USF you say? The same team that got stomped by a Dennis Dixon-less Oregon team in the Sun Bowl by the tune of 56-21. Yes, that South Florida squad. I can't take much of the credit for this selection. That belongs to ML. I did, though, do my own research and agreed with his and others sentiments.
I believe that USF has better than a 1.33% chance of winning the BCS Championship game. Given their current odds this represents value. Others must agree because USF is now 20-1 at the Greek and 33-1 at 5 Dimes.
In the meantime I am looking at a few NFL win totals and maybe a few college totals as well. I will post those when the time comes.
